OLA Results

Hello, everyone –

Earlier this year our staff took a survey called the Organizational Leadership Assessment (OLA). The idea was to collect data on the health level of our organization, with input from as many staff members as possible.

To find links to the results, click here. (The results are divided by branch, according to our previous organizational structure.) While results in some areas of leadership — Building Community, Valuing People and Providing Leadership — were positive, the results showed other areas that need improvement. In particular, three areas where we’re deficient jump out: Display Authenticity; Share Leadership; and Develop People.

Improvement in these areas goes to our core values. For the coming year, we want to:

  • Display Authenticity - By integrity and trust, openness and accountability and a willingness to learn from others.
  • Share Leadership - By creating a shared vision and sharing decision-making power, status and privilege at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop People - By providing opportunities for learning, modeling appropriate behavior and building up others through encouragement.

That’s a brief synopsis of our plan. You’ll be hearing more about it as the year progresses. I encourage you to look over the results of the survey. If you have any questions, suggestions or remarks, feel free to post them here. I’ll respond as best as I can.

360 Feedback

Hi all. Yesterday (Tuesday) Chuck gave a presentation to the Leadership Team. To briefly recap: the purpose of 360 feedback is to promote ongoing and significant individual professional growth.

After the meeting I sent out several related documents and an Excel spreadsheet to help you tabulate the answers.

I know there will be questions about all this (we’ve heard some already). Please post your questions and comments here (click on “comment” below) and we’ll respond as quickly as possible.

OK-fire away.
